Racechrono Pro slow connection with OBD-II ELM327

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can help regarding slow connection to my cars OBD-II. Here is a run down of what I'm running:

Car: 2004 Toyota Corolla

OBD-II dongle: ELM327 (cheap eBay copy)

App version: Pro

I need to input the correct parameters for the handshake for the app to communicate to the OBD-II dongle. Which is:

ATIB 96

ATIIA 13

ATSH 8113F1

ATSP A4

ATSW 00

I only get testing connection speeds of 0.1kbit/s and it sometimes drops out.

The torque app with the same parameters gets about 6-7kbit/s.

My question is, is it because I run a cheap copy of elm327 that I get slow connection speeds? I know the team recommended getting the obdlink CX/LX/MX/MX+ but before I fork out the cash for that, I rather try to fix this connection issue with the app.

Or are there any other changes to expert settings I can change to get faster connection rates?

Thanks guys. Loving the app :)

  • Update:

So I went and bought a OBDLink LX and I still only get connection speeds of 0.1kbit/s...

Is there anything else can I do to make the connection faster? I have updated it to the latest firmware too.

  • hmmm did you enable the'Force slow requests' in OBD expert settings page?
  • Hey dafangwoo. No I didn't. Left that option off...
