I am very new to all of this so forgive me if I make some incorrect assumptions.
I have a 2021 BMW S1000R motorcycle which comes equipped with an OBDII port in the rear passenger seat compartment. I purchased an OBDLINK LX to log engine RPM, throttle position, gear and other data during my sessions. When i start a session, Racechrono says that the device is connected, but that it is waiting for data.
I have added a couple fast channels like engine RPM/throttle position/Speed and one slow channel for Gear. It doesn't look like any of the data is being transmitted.
I have verified that the connector works, I used the Motoscan for BMW app to look at live data. I am suspecting that the BMW communicates with a custom data encoding or something which is causing Racechrono to not see any data.
Does anyone have experience with this and would be able to point me in the right direction to fix this problem? Or am i trying to do this the incorrect way in the first place? Any input is appreciated.
