RC 1.40 on Windows7 notebook - lockup

Hi,
New user of RaceChrono and am just becoming familiar with the program.
At this time am only running on a PC (don't have a compatible Phone - Nokia 6234 but getting a 5230).
Program appears to work OK until time comes to close out.

Problem is absolutely repeatable whenever the 'Pause Session' dialog comes up and the program stops working - no messages but after a time the (Not Responding) message appears on the title bar.
Problem arises with or without GPS configured or connected - i.e. after initial installation and just working with sample file.
Can you advise what I may be doing incorrectly or what to look for/change in the PC setup.

Have saved the log files referred to in the description below compressed in .rar and can forward them to you if required.

Comments

  • Right click on racechrono.exe and select "run as administrator".

This has stopped my racechrono from locking up after pausing a session.

    Thanks Relli10,

Always run Windows in Administrator mode!

Have been doing further testing and the problem has resolved itself.
I think there was a problem with the Windows set up.
This particular notebook does not appear to have Bluetooth built in as it seems it is an option variation. Had attempted to install 2 different HP Bluetooth drivers when changing from XP to Windows 7 but they would not install, however there was software left in control panel etc. Have now stripped those out and the problem has now gone. I do not know for sure if this was the answer or was a co-incidence.
