Video Export frame rate mismatch

On iPhone 13 Pro and iOS 18, video export works fine when no OBD device connected and 30 FPS internal recordings, but drop to 16.67 FPS once use 60 FPS recording.

With OBD connected and data overlay added, 30 FPS source recoding will drop to 15 FPS exported files, and 60 FPS drop to 16.67 FPS.

I believe this is a bug when reading and encoding the MOV files from internal camera. I attempted to export the MOV, convert to MP4, import back to RaceChrono and set as the main channel, then export again with all the overlays. Everything works fine and frame rate is correct.

I have a “workaround” that:

Move the raw recording to photos app export raw recording in original format on a Mac Use Compressor to transcode and export the video to Apple4K Rename the file extension from m4v to mp4 so RaceChrono Pro can recognize it Import back to RaceChrono Pro as a second channel Add overlays in RaceChrono Pro and export with Channel 2

bit complicated but it works for now.

Another issue is regardless the frame rate of the original footage, the one exported by RaceChrono Pro is always 30FPS.

Hi, yes there is an intermittent problem with the iOS video export frame rate, will be fixed in next version.

@aol_of_RaceChrono latest update few days ago (ipad, was stated about frame rate in changelog), but still exporting 30fps out of 60fps files :(

@aol_of_RaceChrono same here, I'm on 9.0.1 on an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it still is 30 fps post render, as well as the file gets really small even when I select 4k - i.e. it has made a 3.7 GB video into 620 MB, please see picture attached https://i.imgur.com/Xos26sr.png

@LittleTOXA and @dejn, what are source for your video files? What action camera if not built-in? It tries to detect the frame rate from the files, and it defaults to 30 fps if cannot.

@aol_of_RaceChrono GoPro 10 black, video in mp4 format, trasnferred straight via sdcard to the phones storage, then linked to the app via "import"

gopro record settings are 4K/60fps/superview/hypersmooth on boost/high bitrate/auto shutter

phone recognises the original footage as 4k/60 itself

pc properties show the same, please see pictures below, also attaching the exact file download on wetrasnfer, apologies for the size, forgot to stop the recording after finish.

and also attaching the session file from racechrono should you want to try and replicate it on your end..

Just an update - tried re-rendering the source footage in InShot on the phone to both mp4 and mov, with output in 4k/60fps and racechrono still renders that into 30fps files, i can try it later today with file rendered in AfterEffects on the pc, but I doubt a success..

Also one more note - before the update I was able to sync the videos GPS data with the RaceChrono GPS data and link them together in the app. This now doesnt seem to work either, even though the files do have GPS data within them, as I am able to add the speed/g force/map stickers in the GoPro app.. Temp workaround is to use the alpha overlay and merge it in Davinci, but trying to exactly manual sync it is rather frustrating and overall just takes a lot longer to do, compared to if the built in export worked correctly..

my bad on the last one - retried today and was able to link via the magnifying glass within racechrono.
