Failed Audio codecs - PiP iOS RaceChrono Pro

i am using GoPro hero 9 blacks and an iPhone 16 plus

all of my go pros have the exact same settings and use H.264 + HEVC.

And i only film in 1080p and 60fps, and use genuine sandisk extreme pro memory cards.

I have been using the app for my videos for quite some time and will all export fine first go, except if I try and do PiP it comes up with error message of “failed: audio codecs”

if I export each video individually they work fine.

both videos are same resolution and frame rate.

the video is 8 minutes long (Nurburgring) 1 lap. So I cannot make it any shorter.

however on testing and making other videos that are shorter, around 30 seconds, I still get the failed audio codecs. .

i have tried maybe 30/40 times with various recordings, and only managed to export 2 successfully, with no changes in settings - so think maybe these were just lucky!

I leave the app open when exporting, I even enable airplane mode so no one can call or text me when exporting incase that messes it up.

is there a bug fix or anyway I can make the PiP video export successfully ??

Have you tried the lower bitrate option on the GoPro?

All my go pros are on the lowest “standard” bit rate

Also to clarify, fault error is audio/video codecs not just audio as above - my mistake.

Bump - was there ever a fix for the pip failed codecs when exporting ?

colinT1986 Yes the v10.0 released in March introduced fair bit of changes related to this.
