External Bluetooth GPS works at 1 Hz directly, but 4 Hz via Mock Location – why?

I live in South Korea and I'm using the RaceChrono very useful. thank you.!!

I’m using a Xinghewei(below) external Bluetooth GPS receiver with RaceChrono on Android(samsung galaxy s25).

Here’s the issue I’m experiencing:

When I connect the external GPS directly in RaceChrono (as a Bluetooth GPS device), it only works at 1 Hz.

However, if I:
Enable Android Developer Options
Set a mock location app (GPS Connector)
Connect the Xinghewei GPS to GPS Connector
Set RaceChrono to use the internal GPS

Then RaceChrono shows about 4Hz

So it seems like:

Direct Bluetooth connection in RaceChrono → 1 Hz
Via mock location (GPS Connector) → 4 Hz

Why is the update rate limited to 1 Hz when connecting directly through RaceChrono?
Is there any way to force a higher update rate (e.g., 4–5 Hz) when connecting the device directly?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The "Bluetooth GPS" setting of the free version of RaceChrono is rate limited. Should have full update rate with "Devices pack" and "Pro" upgrades.
