Video re-rendering with overlay

Hello everyone,
when I re-render the video with the overlay, the size is much smaller than the original and quality-wise its pretty obvious too, even though the quality is indicated as 4k, its missing lot of the sharpness, crispyness and details compared to the original.

Mostly when I re-render for example a 2GB clip, the resulting video is somewhere between 300-400MB. I haven't found any setting to tune this or choose from some quality presets, can you please shed some lights on why is it this way?

Devices used: iPhone 16 Pro Max, GoPro 10 Black

Recorded at 4k 60fps, with superview lens mode and standard hypersmooth, bitrate set to high

In racechrono I cant seem to find any quality settings, only overlaid video, video channel 1 and then overlay settings..

Please let me know if I can provide any additional info.

Real happy that you looked into it, was afraid that I might be told to just match the alpha overlay to the video in a post editor.. as I am using a gopro with gps the solution within your app is one of the easiest things, so thanks again 🙂

Hi, I've got the beta, thanks for letting me know.

I have re-rendered the video with both h264 and h265 settings, now the size is about 460/462 MB compared to 286 MB it had previously, so something clearly has happened.

Visually it looks a bit cleaner and sharper I would say, but to be honest my original clip is in very bad light as it was end of the day. Ive got upcoming race in about 3 weeks, so I'll re-do the tests then and see what it looks like visually.

If I find time I'll re-do them from last week as well, as I have uploaded the un-edited one to youtube already.

@dejn Notice also the "Video quality" setting on the export configuration screen. You can pretty much choose your quality there. The h.265 setting is also using same bitrate as h.264 which makes the h.265 much better quality.

in my opinion it improved a lot, I dont see that much difference on a 4k screen between the two videos.
