AIM Logger Import Standard Format Suggestion.

Hi,

I'm using a aim data logger, and I also want to import the telemetry channels as well as GPS. The problem is there isn't/or I don't know what to label all the extra channels. Ie. Coolant Temp, Lean angle, Battery Voltage, Brake Pressure, etc.

As a simple implementation, is it possible to have a list of recognised labels (ie Lean, BrakePres, Throttle) that we can simply rename in the AIM export csv, as the AIM export has different labels for every ECU detected so it would be impossible to support them all, we (the user) need to make the CSV fit what racechrono would recognise.

Ideally for every channel already supported in racechrono, there would be a label for it, that you could line up with the CSV just by renaming the header.

I can provide an example export to help you along of a race ecu motorcycle to get most base values correct.

ingleseb Yeah, AIM exports are stupid as they all have different channel IDs. Impossible to make the importer work 100%. I can improve the support if you give me a collection of samples.

Or even a AIM Import "Profile" where you can just map known AIM channels to Internal Racechrono channels.

I'm desperate for this feature, I can financially support the development (Cash $AUD).

Here is an export from a CBR1000RR running a HRC (race) ECU.

Columns I really care about are ACP100 (throttle opening percentage 0-100), and lean angle. Also I'd like the speed from the ECU not GPS speed, the more columns you give me the better, please :-)

Do you have an update or something I can temporarily use, even just the currently known column mapping? I can manually edit the CSV to match.

For next feature release (v10.1), I've added following channels from the sample file:

Speed (ECU)
X/Y/Z accelerations
Coolant temp
Lean angle
Throttle position
Voltage

This way it will be more useful for you, but not a "silver bullet" solution for everyone. UI with configurable columns would do it, but adding UI for such niche feature is not justified. It will add a lot to the maintenance of the app. I

One last thing and I'll be set - Are you both capturing the "ACP" column (Accelerator position) as well as "Throttle" (Butterfly valve opening)?

ingleseb No but I could I guess. Both goes to "Throttle position" now. But I guess "ACP" should be accelerator position, not throttle...
