I didn't opt into the beta, but it looks like I got it, so it must have been rolled out. I was just looking to sync my videos from this last weekend. Definitely a bit of an adjustment on process, but I was able to get them all into the session. It actually worked really well.
However, none of them sync with the session. I use a HERO12 which doesn't have GPS data and it sounds like with this most recent update, if the video files don't have GPS data, you are stuck manually syncing each file, which is definitely a disappointment. That wasn't an issue before. My video files were synced right where they were supposed to with my HERO12. I guess it used the time stamp of me hitting the record button, or something like that? Don't know what the actual mechanism being used was, but whatever it was, it worked great. Hopefully that functionality can be added back in. Manually syncing each video file really sucks. Especially when I didn't used to have to and the only thing that changed was this update.
So I think there were some small steps forward with this update, but a huge step backwards if your camera doesn't have GPS data. Fingers crossed the lost functionality can be added back in. The ability to sync my video easily is one of the reason I use the app.
