mounting a phone on steering wheel

Im in karting and I love Racechrono. I would like to use it for predictive timing and wanted to know if anyone has successfully mounted their phone on a steering wheel.

I would use a suction cup mount if the steering wheel has enough flat space on it (iOttie has a good suction mount we like around here). Otherwise, you may have better luck with a "tube clamp" style mount, similar to the go-pro roll bar mount (in that case I would probably mount it on a bar behind the steering wheel.

thanks for the info. unfortunately there is not enough space for a suction cup, and no tube behind the steering wheel to acommodate it.

Im thinking of making something out of a strip of plastic.

Hi,
I setup a Samsung Galaxy S3 on a TonyKart steering wheel.
To do it, I used a Defender series OTTEROX :

I modified the Holster to feet onto the lower side of the steering wheel (Alfano is on the upper side).
