OBD trouble shooting and addition info.

Hi I have been using racechrono for a little while and just purchased the pro version so I could get some info from my ECU.
Hardware
Vehicle Triumph Daytona 600 (no not 675, 600)
Phone Motorola Moto E version 2nd gen (running Android 5.02)
OBDLink LX Bluetooth Scan Tool

How can I know when the connection is made and debug the connection.
I can see no data collected.
The device output obd file has zero bytes.
I thought that I had turned on bluetooth, but I was a bit distracted so maybe I didn't.
This next weekend I will enable debugging and see what comes out but are there any live ways that I can tell if the connection is good.

Thanks Greg

  • Ok after a bit more reading the LX supports the following.

    ISO 15765-4 (CAN)
    ISO 14230-4 (Keyword Protocol 2000)
ISO 9141-2 (Asian, European, Chrysler vehicles)
    J1850 VPW (GM vehicles)
    J1850 PWM (Ford vehicles)

So I will make sure bluetooth is on :)

I will make my own track ie around the block and test them.
    Thanks
  • You should get data to the output file first. At least "OK" response to the "ATZ" that RaceChrono sends. I think some early Triumph should work, but the later ones don't, as they have "protected" ECU.
  • Just turned the bike on checked the OBD link was talking to my phone with tuneecu
Ok tried a couple and they all sit there saying waiting to connect...
  • Sounds like the Bluetooth connection is not working. Usually this part just works. Notice you can connect only one app at a time. Also check you've selected correct OBD-II device in RC settings.
  • Yep got the right device. ECU is not protected. 2004. I will try again tomorrow.
  • Should work. At least you should get something to the device output logs.
